Clear information about cancer, checked before it is published
Cancer Wellness is an independent project. It collects the natural remedies, foods and supplements that Indian families are told about, retells them faithfully, and says one thing about all of them: take them alongside chemotherapy and radiation, never instead. We are not a hospital, a clinic, or a treatment provider, and we do not sell anything that treats cancer.
Why this exists
Most cancers in India are found late. That is the problem we work on.
Breast, cervical and oral cancer together account for a large share of India's cancer burden, and all three can be seen or felt by a doctor at an early stage, when five-year survival is typically above 85 percent. Yet the majority are still diagnosed at stage 3 or 4. The gap is not technology. It is that people do not know the signs, do not know screening is free at government health centres from age 30, and are often advised by well-meaning relatives to try a remedy first.
This site takes the most widely forwarded "natural cure" post in India and retells it in full, in plain language, with the author's own cautions kept in and a short evidence check beside it. It is written for the person who has just received that forward and wants to read it properly before acting on it.
Who it is for
Patients and families in India, the friends who advise them, and anyone who has received a "natural cure" forward and wants to know if it is true.
Who makes it
A small volunteer effort. We are not doctors. Everything medical on the site is drawn from, and linked to, the WHO, IARC, ICMR, Cancer Research UK, the US National Cancer Institute and the American Cancer Society.
Our standard
How a claim gets onto this site
- Human evidence or it is labelled
A remedy counts as a treatment only if it has been tested in people with cancer, in a trial, and worked. Lab-dish and mouse results are reported as exactly that. Testimonials are not evidence.
- Every number has a source
Statistics come from the WHO, IARC's GLOBOCAN, India's National Cancer Registry Programme or the American Cancer Society, and the footer says which.
- Claims are shown with their verdict, not hidden
We do not pretend the popular remedies do not exist. We list them, in the words of the people who promote them, next to what the evidence says, so readers can see both.
- Nothing here delays treatment
If any page on this site would make a person skip a biopsy, surgery, chemotherapy or radiation their oncologist recommended, that page is wrong and we will fix it.
Our commitments
What we will never do
Never sell a cancer cure
No product, supplement, herb or practitioner is advertised here as treating, curing or preventing cancer. In India that is illegal under the Drugs and Magic Remedies Act, and it is also wrong.
Never attack your doctor
Treatment fails sometimes because cancer is hard, not because medicine is a fraud. When it fails, the next step is a second opinion, a trial or palliative care.
Never mock the people who forward cures
Nearly every cure post is written by someone who lost a parent. We answer the claim, not the person.
Never publish private contact details
We reprint a practitioner's contact details only where the practitioner has printed them for the public himself, as on the pamphlet. We do not reprint the private email addresses or phone numbers of individuals, including the author of the post.
Never stop correcting
Found an error, an outdated number, or a claim we have missed? The contact page is for that.
